Writer's Guidelines

EFCA BLOG

Purpose: The EFCA Blog offers proven practices and alternative perspectives for Christian faith and ministry from leaders in the Evangelical Free Church of America®.

Audience: EFCA pastors, staff, board members and ministry leaders.

Parameters: The Blog emphasizes:

1. Ministry-in-action tied to EFCA churches, leaders and members
2. Thoughtful/challenging explorations of topics important to church life
3. A theological exploration of pertinent topics

To support your writing, we ask for:

1. Examples
2. Anecdotes
3. Bible verses
4. Quotes
5. Questions and/or challenges to carry your message forward

The blog generally does not post poetry.

Please review past posts to become familiar with the Blog’s editorial needs and style.

Freelance article submissions: Articles to be considered for the EFCA Blog should be between 1,000 and 2,500 words. Indicate if photos are available and include contacts for verification of article (address/phone/email of subject and subject’s pastor).

Book reviews: Reviews are offered quarterly on publications selected by the EFCA's book review coordinator. Each reviewer writes “on spec,” and we’ll pay you if we choose to publish your review. To learn more, contact the book-review coordinator.

Payment: Flat-fee rates apply, starting at $100—including limited subsidiary rights (free use within an EFCA context). Reprint payments vary. Payment is made upon acceptance—final edit and publication of the article. Maximum one article per quarter.
