Wars and refugees have been part of this region’s recent history, with no change in sight. Blend a response of compassion to the widows, orphans, and aliens with a commitment to share the gospel and to work with national partners.
Experience in compassion ministries is helpful, but a willingness to get personally involved is absolutely required. You will need a significant amount of patience and a big view of God as the problems in the region can be overwhelming and the cultural resistance to the truth of Jesus is entrenched.
Start with a year of language and culture learning in Amman, Jordan. This first year will give you opportunity to get to know the team and partners, as well as start to understand the various refugee communities and what is being done to try to help them.
As you transition from full-time learning, you’ll become the primary driver for developing and implementing our long-term strategies. You will also help find new national partners and lead our response to new crises within the region that trigger additional waves of refugees.
