While Ukraine is often called the "Bible Belt" of Eastern Europe, there is still a great need for Christ-centered youth workers. The youth culture in Ukraine is enticed with mafia connections; gangs are more prevalent; promiscuity, accessible pornography and brothels are constant temptations. The lack of value for human life, unhealthy families and promiscuity all play parts in Ukraine being one of the largest sources for human trafficking worldwide.
The right person for the role will have demonstrated ability to work well on a team, individual drive, and a strong desire to enhance current structures while looking for new opportunities to grow ministries and train leaders who can continue ministry after your departure. It will be essential to maintain a servant’s heart and position of learning while living in Ukraine and serve from a humble position that doesn’t feel the need to be in charge, being content to see Ukrainian believers lead.
