Senior Financial Analyst

The EFCA national office is seeking a full-time Senior Financial Analyst to develop and maintain the organization’s reporting and analysis environment. This role will act as the project coordinator for the preparation of the annual budget and serve as a budgeting and reporting expert for EFCA districts and churches. This role will also support the accounting department by assisting in the month-end close process and by providing general accounting assistance.

Hours Per Week: 40

Salary: $70-80k annually


  • Reporting and analysis: prepare monthly reporting and improve processes as necessary; provide analysis of revenue and expense variances; create ad hoc financial models; prepare monthly financial analysis; monitor and evaluate data integrity and accuracy
  • Annual budget process: develop and maintain budget data worksheets; collect and import project budgets; assist with allocation calculations; review and report budget data to ministry leaders
  • Immigrant Hope bookkeeping: process deposits and check requests in QuickBooks Online; perform reconciliations; make adjusting entries; assist with annual 990 tax return preparation as requested
  • Accounting support: month-end close duties; continuous process improvement projects
  • Church resourcing: create resources for church treasurers and bookkeepers addressing common issues; respond to church inquiries; coach and train church treasurers and bookkeepers in reporting and budgeting best practices as needed
  • Other duties as assigned: assist with external audit requests; ensure current documentation of procedures

Skills and Education Requirements

  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the mission and values of the EFCA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA. CPA, or CMA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility in areas of financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with ERP solutions, Blackbaud’s Financial Edge is a plus
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools, Power BI is a plus
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts and the application of GAAP
  • Strong attention to detail, well-organized, and ability to multitask
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with the development of training materials and comfort making small-group presentations
  • Willingness to help others, eagerness to learn, ability to work independently
