Pre-Deployed Staff Manager

The EFCA national office is seeking a full-time Pre-Deployed Staff Manager to oversee all steps of the post-acceptance missionary induction process for both short-term and long-term pre-deployed staff. This individual will support the Engage team and the IMA Personnel team in fulfilling our purpose to “recruit, support, and retain IMA staff by coming alongside them to serve them well.”

Start Date: January 6, 2020

Hours Per Week: 40

Duties

  • Provide excellent leadership for all post-acceptance, pre-field processes for new missionary staff, including orientation to tools and processes, training and coaching, placement and vision trip processes, and team integration and departure processe
  • Ensure that monthly check ins and other required monthly processes with all pre-deployed staff are consistently happening
  • Assist the Engage Director as necessary, including evaluation of candidate files, conducting interviews, participating in orientation and training, and assisting the Director with strategy and implementation of projects
  • Other duties as assigned, such as learning all aspects of the Engage application and assessment processes to be able to assist when needed, and developing an understanding of ministries and personnel including relational connection with teams and leaders around the world

Skills and Education Requirements

  • Alignment with the mission and values of the EFCA
  • Minimum two years of cross-cultural missionary experience
  • Four-year college degree required; degree in Bible, Theology, intercultural studies, or other related subject preferred
  • Demonstrated spiritual leadership
  • Experience in support raising and coaching others strongly preferred
  • Ability to communicate tactfully and accurately and maintain good working relationships
  • Ability to communicate and build relationships over virtual platforms
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discernment and make difficult decisions when necessary
  • Ability to effectively balance and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • Good organizational skills relating to materials and maintaining effective records
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight 5-10 percent of the time to achieve position objectives
