Interactive Art Director

The EFCA national office is seeking a full-time Interactive Art Director to help establish the EFCA as a leader in digital and creative services, especially in regard to churches and ministries, and work with EFCA staff on quality and consistency of brand identity across all communication platforms.

Start Date: January 1, 2019

Hours Per Week: 40

Duties

  • Lead and manage a cross-functional design team in the conception, design, and execution of visual materials
  • Serve as a design advocate through project strategy leadership, etc.
  • Evaluate major campaign results and processes with case studies
  • Maintain an expert knowledge of brand guidelines and work with ministries to create project plans including web design, user interface, and interactive campaigns
  • Inform and participate in product decisions from definition to launch
  • Create user flows, wireframes, site maps, user journey maps, interactive prototypes to help the team make product decisions
  • Act as primary product owner for efca.org and train web editors as needed
  • Assist in the development and ongoing maintenance of ministry codebases
  • Manage website updates and improvements through coordination with Digital Marketing Manager and ministry owners
  • Analyze web measurement data

Skills and Education Requirements

  • Alignment with the mission and values of the EFCA
  • At least 8 years of professional design experience creating campaigns, digital products, and websites (with at least 2 years of agency and leadership experience)
  • An advanced degree in user experience, design, or related field required
  • Proficiency in PHP, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe CC (XD, Photoshop, AfterEffects), Sketch, and InVision
  • Solid understanding of UX/UI, responsive design, and SVG animation
  • Experience working with APIs
  • Thorough knowledge of site design, UI design processes, and information architecture-related software
  • Must have a portfolio that demonstrates strong web design and front-end web development skills
  • Proven leadership, interpersonal, and project management skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight approximately 5-10%
