The focus of Hispanic Ministries can be reduced to three words: Pain, Train, Gain.
- Pain: Finding compassionate ways to minister to the lost and immigrant that will build bridges for the Gospel. Immigrant Hope is one way that Christians can prepare themselves to reach out to immigrants.
- Train: Developing alternative, non-formal training for ethnic and urban pastors and leaders as well as church planters. EFCA GATEWAY Theological Institute is the training that meets this need and is availalbe in English and Spanish.
- Gain: Developing models for church planting among the unreached. Church in a Church is one model that is being effectively used within the EFCA.
Many Hispanics are affected by issues of immigration. Listen to this NPR story, featuring the EFCA's Alejandro Mandes, about how evangelicals are trying to soften hearts on overhauling immigration.
