Greg Strand is EFCA executive director of theology and credentialing, and he serves on the Board of Ministerial Standing as well as the Spiritual Heritage Committee. He and his family are members of Northfield (Minnesota) EFC.
Our upcoming EFCA Theology Conference is on the important topic of The Doctrine of the Church. Valley Church in West Des Moines, IA, will serve as our host during these days, January 20-22. Speakers joining us are Timothy George, Michael Lawrence, Joseph Hellerman, Peter Cha, Greg Waybright and Bill Kynes. We are excited these excellent speakers will be opening the Word to and with us.
Our postconference topic is on the theme of The Ministry of the Gospel and Gender Dysphoria. Mark Yarhouse, our speaker, will focus on (1) the biblical and theological teaching; (2) the scientific, biological, sociological, psychological and cultural issues/pressures, etc., and (3) and the pastoral response.
Registration is now open. I encourage you to register sooner rather than later.
Both the Conference and Postconference topics are vital for pastors and leaders. I encourage you to plan to join us with the rest of your staff. This will not only be instructive, but it will also provide a great opportunity for you as fellow leaders in the local church to discuss these important teachings. What we learn here will also equip you to address these issues in the context of the local church where you serve.
Please plan to join us. I look forward to seeing you in January!
