BUMP - BRIDGING URBAN MISSION PROJECT
A Typical BUMP Week
Sunday Arrive on site, unpack, eat, and attend rally for orientation on the campus where you will be staying.
Monday We eat breakfast, do devotions, and attend rally for worship and an introduction to the day. You'll head to the site where students will be preparing for the big block party tonight. Others will be going through the neighborhood inviting kids and families to the block party and Vacation Bible School. Some will be going out in prayer walking groups while others are preparing for the sports clinics.
By four o'clock you'll be ready to meet dozens of families as you serve hot dogs, paint faces, play games, register kids for VBS and sports clinics, play in the band, share your testimony, or perform a drama.
Tuesday - Friday You wake up tired, but it's a good tired. After breakfast, morning worship and debriefing, you'll head off to your site to prepare and run a sport's clinic, Vacation Bible School, paint a house, and/or cover the neighborhood with prayer walking. The whole time you're meeting people from different cultures, languages, and life situations as you share the good news about Jesus. In the evenings all the students rally with great music, opportunities to share "God sightings," and hear a challenge from God's Word. Basketball, snacks, and free time are available after the rally and you'll have all Thursday night off to do what you want as a group. In the morning you'll get up and do it all over again.
