Clarion Call from EFCA RESOUND Director Jackie Redmond
God is the same, yesterday, today and forever, yet there is a deep dimension of God that creates moments in time where He orchestrates what appears to be a fresh new challenge, invitation or calling. I believe that God is calling us to His age-old command in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18) to make disciples. There is urgency in my heart compelling me to lead in a clarion call; a call to women to stand up and be counted.
When I was called to lead the women of the EFCA, God gave me a picture of EFCA women’s ministry as a large boat docked and deserted. Now, that boat has a fresh coat of paint, is named EFCA RESOUND women’s ministry and is destined to bring on board women answering the call of God to build up the next generation of believers through disciplemaking. Disciplemaking is different than short term discipleship. Disciplemaking is ongoing ministry in an environment that produces disciplemakers and new ministries.
Along with His calling came the need to provide a tool to train women to launch, refresh or re-vision a disciplemaking ministry. A ministry that is laser focused on producing disciples that make more disciples. This tool is called the Disciplemaking Pathway and along with the training guide, is helpful for all women. It shows the strategy of Jesus, the real life application of disciplemaking and offers suggested resources.
Here’s the invitation: come aboard this great big harvest ship, which is going places for God. There are many who know there is more to ministry; more conversions, transformed lives, equipped workers, multiplied disciples and ministries. No matter what stage of life you are in, be encouraged, you can make a difference in the mission field right now.
Check our website for a training event in your area this fall and plan now to attend. If your district doesn’t yet have a Mobilizer, gather local EFCA churches together and we’ll find a trainer to guide you through the Disciplemaking Pathway. This training has already been implemented successfully in large and small churches across the country.
It is a joy and privilege to serve our Lord in this capacity and I sense His favor, guidance and blessing. We have great days ahead!
