Please keep copies of the results of these tests. They are not automatically sent to the EFCA. The first three instruments are the foundational instruments you need to take to see if you have the hard wiring to be an effective church planter.
1. MBTI
MBTI is taken by 2.5 million people annually. For EFCA church planters only: use the discount code EFCA001 at the checkout for a 15 percent discount.
2. CPI 260
CPI 260 is based upon the California Psychological inventory which has a 50-year exceptional history, validity and reliability. You will be compared to a base line of 5,600 managers and executives. It will take you about 25 minutes, and you will receive a multi-page report that covers 18 leadership characteristics. 3. DiSC Profile #W-800
This instrument helps you understand how basic personality impacts your church planting leadership.

4. Strength Finders 2
Strength Finders is an assessment tool using 34 strengths developed by the Gallup organization after 40 years of research. You have to purchase the book. In the book, you will receive a code for the online assessment. It will take you 20 minutes, and you will receive a report that covers your top five strengths and action ideas for developing these strengths. The book gives you additional insights into how to develop your strengths and maximize your team.

5. Couple Checkup
This instrument helps you evaluate 20 different areas in your marriage relationship.
6. Emotional Intelligence Appraisal
Emotional intelligence is one of the most important skills we possess. It is more important for job performance than IQ, experience or technical ability. Studies across industries show that EQ predicts job performance 2 to 1 over any other skill. It will take you about 10 minutes and you will receive a 30-page report that covers self-awarness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management.
7. Risk Factor Analysis
Risk Factor Analysis is a simple tool that measures risk factors like funding, cultural experience, ministry partners, pre-existing contacts, family support, geographical roots, supportive churches and ministry success.
8. APEST
This instrument helps you evaluate your leadership orientation based upon Ephesians 4.

9. Spiritual Gifts
This instrument helps you evalute your spiritual gifts. Choose the 16 spiritual gifts questionnaire.
10. EFCA Planter Profile
This instrument helps you evaluate the basic skills you need to be an effective church planter.
11. Church Planter Candidate Assessment by LifeWay Research
Developed by LifeWay Research, this is an online assessment instrument to help potential church planters identify areas of strength and areas that will need development. If you are planting with the EFCA, use this link to identify yourself as an EFCA applicant to receive a discounted rate. 12. Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Assessment (TKI)
Based on 35 years of research, this tool evaluates conflict styles.
Behavioral Interview
Once you have completed the self-assessments, the next step is to schedule a behavioral interview with the district of your choice. Each of our districts have assessment teams that have been trained in behavioral interview evaluation. The behavioral interview is a three-four hour interview that you complete with your wife to explore in depth the foundational skills of church planting.
Personal Growth Plan
At this point, you will take the findings of your self-assessment work and the behavioral interview and write a personal growth plan for the first year of ministry. This plan will be updated each year.
Coaching Growth Plan
Once you complete your personal growth plan, your coach will refine that plan with coaching insights and goals for the first year of ministry. This plan will be updated each year.
