ReachNational Church Planting Values
Great Companion Dependency
We expect our planters to use the latest resources and technology. But we know Jesus is the head of the church (Ephesians 5:23). He is the one who builds the church (Matt. 16:18). Therefore we expect our planters to maintain a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
The classical church planting passage, I Corinthians 3:6, creates the appropriate balance. "I planted, Apollos watered, but God made it grow."
Great Commandment Climate
People have two basic needs, to love God and to love one another (Matt. 22). We expect our church plants to develop a corporate climate of worship and community. When these two needs are met, the church plant becomes a powerful magnet and grows all by itself (Mark 4:28).
Great Commission Balance
Many churches ignore the front end and the back end of the Great Commission (Matt. 28). We expect our church plants to develop a balanced ministry of winning the lost, building the believers, equipping the workers, developing leaders, and reproducing Acts 1:8 ministries.
In order to create this Great Commission balance, church plants need to develop an intentional disciple making process that will move people from consumer to missionary.
EFCA Interdependency
We have learned through our history, we are "better together." Therefore, we expect our church planters to be fully committed to our common mission of "multiplying healthy churches among all people" and actively involved in their districts.
