EFCA START Churches

EFCA Start Churches, the church planting ministry of ReachNational, is a network of nearly 1,500 Evangelical Free Churches and 17 regional EFCA districts committed to a common church planting mission. Planting approximately one church a week (with an 87% success rate), we have close to 200 plants on their way to becoming affiliated EFCA churches–30% of which are multicultural church plants.

Why Plant with the EFCA?

Commenting on the mission, effectiveness, brotherhood, theological and “how they do church” strengths of the EFCA, Scott Stener, pastor of The Vine Church in Madison, WI, is excited to be part of EFCA church planting through the Forest Lakes District.

Four years ago, Ryan Kwon never would have imagined that God would lead him out of his hometown of L.A. But God uprooted him and his family and led them to a relatively unknown city in the Bay Area. Pictured at left is church planter Ryan Kwon with Resonate's new church charter.

Church planter Celestino (Jun) Sabate describes how he reaches others for Jesus Christ. "We start from zero. We ‘parachute' into the city, figuratively speaking. We don't know anybody there. We establish contact with the people. We have Bible studies, and meet other people. When we have a critical mass, we start the worship service."

When John Stevens began prayer walking neighborhoods in Shelby, OH, he stepped into a community known nationwide for its heroin epidemic. The response and hunger of the people for the truths of Jesus Christ was immediately evident.
