General Information
EFCA GATEWAY Theological Institute offers language-specific, practical and accessible theological training for pastors and leaders, including urban, ethnic and other non-traditional students. GATEWAY is designed for leaders who have a need for theological and pastoral training but lack the time and resources to access traditional seminary education.
GATEWAY Phase 1 is a one year course that is based on the EFCA Statement of Faith and prepares the students that are interested in credentials for the licensing process.
GATEWAY Phase 2 is a three year course that uses the Capstone Curriculum by The Urban Ministry Instutute (TUMI) as well as curriculum GATEWAY has developed. Phase 2 is for those students who are interested in deeper theological training, especially those students interested in preparing for the ordination process.
GATEWAY values
- Life-long learning - One of EFCA GATEWAY’s core values is life-long learning. EFCA GATEWAY seeks to instill a passion and value for learning throughout all stages of life.
- Shared resources - EFCA GATEWAY partners with local churches to host the courses and with EFCA ordained pastors to facilitate the classes.
- Kingdom-minded - While EFCA GATEWAY is a ministry of the EFCA, we also desire to be a blessing to the broader evangelical community.
