For Students
How to get started: Phase I
Students start by checking with their EFCA district to see if there is an EFCA GATEWAY site in their area or by writing to gateway@efca.org. The student will then begin Phase 1 of GATEWAY, a 14-16 month course of study based on the EFCA Statement of Faith. The steps in that process are:
- Attend the EFCA GATEWAY informational meeting and Orientation in your area.
- Submit a completed Student Application and the registration fee of $300 (includes books) at the informational meeting during orientation. (If mailing, send for receipt prior to orientation to: EFCA GATEWAY, P.O. Box 1223, Helotes, TX 78023.)
- Books will be delivered to students at the orientation after tuition payment is received.
- Submit a Student Covenant at the orientation.
- Study for each class.
- Attend classes for the duration of the course (attendance at classes is vital!), submit all work and participate in classes.
- Graduate from Phase 1 after fulfilling all requirements.
- For those interested in ordination apply for Phase II GATEWAY
Applications and documents: Phase I
How to get started: Phase II GATEWAY
Students who have successfully completed GATEWAY Phase I qualify for Phase II when it is being offered in their district. Other students may enter if they receive permission from the director of the GATEWAY location. For example, someone who has previous education and ministry experience in the EFCA would not necessarily need to take GATEWAY Phase I.
