EFCA GATEWAY Theological Institute

Our mission

EFCA GATEWAY Theological Institute equips pastors and leaders (men and women) for ministry within the larger EFCA movement.

Baltimore GT graduationIt really works!  The student testimonies at the GATEWAY, Phase One graduation in Baltimore, MD, on July 11, 2010 showed how important GATEWAY was to them as they were strengthened in their faith and given clarity and confidence in their understanding of the gospel.  One by one, they testified to how GATEWAY enriched their lives and gave them insights to pass on to others in their ministries. Click here to see and hear from them, part 1.  Click here for part 2.

The twelve students came from five or six quite different congregations, mostly urban, but some suburban, and even rural, gathering together monthly to dialog over (and debate!) the most important matters of truth and faith as they studied our Free Church Statement of Faith. Many saw things they had never seen before, and they became excited to share those things with others.  Their new insights became part of their preaching, teaching and mentoring.  A diverse group - African-American, Hispanic, Indonesian, and Caucasian - they loved learning together, praying for one another, becoming dear and lasting friends.

It was a wonderful privilege and joy for Pastor David Gehret and I to co-facilitate this incredible group of devoted students.  What a blessing for me to have them as my first graduating class!  I encourage you to listen to their stories.  You’ll be blessed, too!
