EFCA ENCORE

Reaching, equipping and unleashing 50+ adults for the cause of Christ during their "encore" years of life.

ENCORE - the name says it all.  If you have ever been to a concert that was so excellent you didn’t want it to end, you have most likely cheered for an encore.  Stood and applauded and maybe even whistled.  Wanted more and hoped the best was saved for last.

This encore metaphor expresses the attitude of many older adults:  Life has been good because God is good.  We want more.  Perhaps the best is yet to come.

What will ministry to and through older adults look like in the EFCA’s future? In response to this question and opportunity, the EFCA has birthed EFCA ENCORE—to provide resources and consultation for churches and districts to aid in creating ministry opportunities for those in the second half of their life, both Boomers and Builders.

Cross-Generational Hope

A young man watched guys in their 60's serve God zealously all week and said, "This week I've gained hope in the Church. I see what I want to be like in 40 years." A guy over 60 shared his observations that week, "I've regained hope in the church because I've seen so many young people serving the Lord!"
