5 Ways to Pray for Europe
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done.
"Lord, teach us to pray…" was an interesting request from Jesus’ disciples. We know and recite often "the Lord’s Prayer," yet Jesus told a parable to add to the answer (see Luke 11:9-13). His story described a friend who asked persistently for something, and the help came from the persistent petitioning.
As you pray for Europe, please pray that "Thy kingdom come" to all sectors of Europe AND pray this persistently. Do not lose heart if the response is not seen quickly or if it isn’t even made known to you. God uses the power of prayer to shape His people and affect His work in the kingdom. Stay the course: pray with unrelenting, nagging persistency.
Please pray for:
1. Fruit from our efforts.
Ultimately God alone changes hearts, so ask Him for more people to become Christians and for deeper commitments to His Lordship.
2. More workers!
In most places throughout Europe, believers are around 1%. Simply stated, we need HELP from all over the globe.
3. "Gospel creativity."
We face the world’s first generation of post-Christians and we need innovative, gospel-centered ideas.
4. Clear understanding about Europe.
Pray that each of our staff can clearly communicate the uniqueness of Europe. This land is different than any other mission field. It is highly secular (98-99% lost); highly fought over by other religions; still a place to send missionaries; and growing in global influence.
5. Financial resources.
It is obvious that Europe is one of the most expensive mission fields, yet it is currently also one of the least reached (interesting ‘coincidence’?). Ask God to pour out His provision for this work.
