Multiplying among millions.
ReachGlobal visions to plant 100 ACTS 19 sites around the world! What’s an "Acts 19 site"? It is a city of regional or world influence (as recorded in Acts 19) where gospel influence is extended from that city to an entire region and to the world as a whole.
Greater Tokyo, with its 40 million people, is one such city of regional and world influence with a huge potential of being a city of gospel influence to all of Asia. However, currently less than 1% of the population acknowledges Christ as Savior.
One congregation "on mission" to partner for the multiplication of healthy churches in the Tokyo area is Tokyo Musashino Evangelical Free Church (known as Musashino Chapel Center (MCC)). Planted in 1981 as a partnership between the Evangelical Free Church of Japan and ReachGlobal, MCC has both a Japanese speaking and an English-speaking department who comprise one fellowship. Over the past 28 years, MCC has established 2 daughter congregations in the western suburbs of Tokyo.
MCC is now poised, in partnership with The Evangelical Free Church of Canada Mission (EFCCM) and ReachGlobal to launch another multi-congregational, multi-language, and multicultural fellowship in Eastern Tokyo that will have a DNA of reaching many cultures and languages in Tokyo, Japan and Asia. MCC visions to be the "mother church" and catalyst for multiplying other fellowships in Greater Tokyo.
Praise and Prayer
- Praise God for the vision of MCC for planting multi-ethnic, multi-congregational and multi-language churches in the greater Tokyo area.
- Pray for the city team now in process of being formed in partnership between MCC, the EFCCM, and ReachGlobal to launch this new church multiplication movement, beginning in 2011.
- Pray that Jesus will send long-term and short-term workers from Japan, Canada, the United States and beyond.
