A small church makes a major contribution 
A small church in California of around 200 people is making a huge impact in Asia. This church recently facilitated the first ever retreat for one of the ReachGlobal national partner organizations. The small church sent a team of five people to lead the retreat through Bible teaching, leading worship, and coming along-side to encourage national workers.
The church recently funded the entire four day retreat for 45 national workers who work among an unreached people group. This was the first time this organization has ever gotten all of their staff together in one place. The retreat offered extended time for their board to set direction for the future. It provided a time for rest and refreshment for the staff who are involved in church planting in some difficult contexts.
Imagine 45 people from many different locations meeting each other for the first time. They discovered shared passion for their work and similar challenges. Throw in times of worship, teaching, encouragement, and vision setting with healthy doses of free time to spend getting to know one another better and you have a pretty good description of the first-national retreat!
The enthusiasm of the attendees was quickly evident with the joy they displayed in getting to know one another, singing, telling stories and laughing. Many of the national workers commented that they felt a great freedom at the retreat center that they do not feel in the Muslim communities where they live.
