Holistic Transformation
Leave a legacy through holistic ministry.
Mr N, 21, was trying to keep warm around his village fire when he accidentally fell into the fire. Although he survived, he did not have enough money to receive medical care. As a result, his leg contracted and he was unable to walk, which made him feel like he was a burden to his family.
Mr. N moved to a city in southern China to beg. A project staff noticed him on the street and encouraged him to come to the physical rehabilitation unit for evaluation. Mr. N had six surgeries, at no expense to himself, which corrected his contracture. After the second surgery, he began to walk again and gave his life to the Lord.
Mr. N subsequently trained in massage therapy but could not find a job. He decided to volunteer at the rehab unit, sharing the gospel with patients and helping in a variety of ways. He was later hired as a staff member.
Meanwhile, Miss W, a Christian, was struck with spinal tuberculosis which left her wheel-chair bound. She came to the rehab unit to receive treatment and therapy. Miss W did not regain full mobility right away so she decided to return home. Just before leaving, she and Mr. N’s paths crossed.
At home, she began walking again and returned for further therapy. A few months after her return, Mr. N and Miss W decided to get married. Together, they have ministered holistically, transforming lives both physically and spiritually.
The lives of these precious people are a testimony to how God holistically works to leave a legacy of transformation.
