Calcutta (Kolkata) Women's Initiative Project

Indian women at computersAddressing women’s issues in India

Mission Statement

To address issues of oppression, abuse, and lack of basic human rights in the lives of women and children in Calcutta and West Bengal through empowerment, advocacy, and special services.

Responsible organization

Philosophy of Ministry

Outreach and services flow out of a commitment to the redeeming love of Christ.  All staff members are believers who share the Good News of Christ appropriately as they address the needs of women and children at risk.  As members of the community come to Christ, a "Lighthouse" fellowship is established in the at risk communities.

Partnership Opportunities

International partners are needed to come alongside with financial support for the project as well as hands-on involvement in the ministries through both short-term and long-term service assignments.
