Calcutta (Kolkata) Women's Initiative Project
Addressing women’s issues in India
Mission Statement
To address issues of oppression, abuse, and lack of basic human rights in the lives of women and children in Calcutta and West Bengal through empowerment, advocacy, and special services.
Responsible organization
ReachGlobal partners in the Eastern region of India.
Philosophy of Ministry
Outreach and services flow out of a commitment to the redeeming love of Christ. All staff members are believers who share the Good News of Christ appropriately as they address the needs of women and children at risk. As members of the community come to Christ, a "Lighthouse" fellowship is established in the at risk communities.
Partnership Opportunities
International partners are needed to come alongside with financial support for the project as well as hands-on involvement in the ministries through both short-term and long-term service assignments.
Going and Serving
Hands on service opportunities include medical services, art and music therapy, counseling training, business consultation and development, writing and photography, leadership development, ESL, Bible study and discipleship training for leaders
