The Friend's Place

How can ReachGlobal reach this generation of Japanese? The Friend's Place

Staff in Fukuoka, Japan is using a new three-prong approach to reach out with the Gospel.

First, the friendship center reaches people in their daily lives.

ReachGlobal staff reaches into the hearts of the Japanese through a variety of English programs for children and adults, craft classes, Coffee and Chat (The conversation is in English, of course!), cooking classes, Moms and Kids Classes and more.

Friend’s house church is the second prong of the three-pronged process.

With contacts from the Friendship Center, ReachGlobal staff wants to meet with anyone who is willing to study the Bible.  God is leading Japanese to turn to Him and walk with Him in a dynamic relationship. ReachGlobal staff desires to lead Japanese to devote themselves to a lifestyle of worship, discipleship, outreach, fellowship and compassion.

A coffee house will complete the three prong strategy.

Besides offering great coffee in an environment where God’s love is evident; concerts and informal chats will provide a platform for sharing the Gospel to those who would never enter a church. (This prong is waiting for new ReachGlobal staff to finish support team building in the United States.)

Praise and Pray

  • Praise for the ways the Friendship Center reaches into the lives of the Japanese and allows staff to incarnate and share the gospel.
  • Wisdom as ReachGlobal staff decides what classes and groups to offer and when.
  • Ideas for classes and activities that interest men, elderly people and college students who study near the Center.
  • English class ministry to grow in numbers and effectiveness as ReachGlobal staff seeks to make new friends in this area and share God’s truth.
  • That the seeds of God’s word planted in the Bible times will bring forth a great harvest.
  • Growth of the house church.
