Community Health Evangelism/Education is about much more than health care. However, sound health care programs are integrated into strong community health development programs. When entering a village to serve alongside national workers, ReachGlobal Asia follows these principles regarding holistic health care:
A successful health care program is based on good relationships with the local people and on long-term visible results.
- Much prayer focuses on finding the "man of peace" who can serve as an advocate for ReachGlobal and national workers in each primary impact village.
- There is careful evaluation of local curative practices and community development services.
- A trained villager is an empowered villager; the more aggressively ReachGlobal develops training programs, the more quickly people and villages stand on their own and move forward.
- Prevention of disease is far more valuable than treatment. ReachGlobal seeks to find creative ways to prevent disease, while working in harmony with the existing local medical system.
