The Salesman
This story is one that is not unique among ReachGlobal national partners. The locations and people groups involved will be different; however, the story in each place has a familiar ‘ring’ to it.
Paul is a salesman who travels door to door in a large city selling honey and spices. On one trip, he met Jonas, an appliance salesman. The men struck up a conversation which lasted three to four hours. (This is not uncommon in Asia.) Before the conversation ended, Jonas had become a believer.
The story
After chatting with Jonas for quite some time, the conversation evolved towards the spiritual dimension and to each other’s personal faith. Eventually, Jonas, the appliance salesman, came to faith in Jesus Christ. Paul began discipling Jonas every month for two years before Jonas finally came to the point where he desired to be baptized.
Jonas is now witnessing to his personal doctor, who is reading the Bible, and two religious leaders at the local mosque. They are listening.
Praise and Pray
- Praise God for the determination and commitment to the cause of Jesus Christ displayed in an area of Asia that is very resistant to the gospel.
- Praise God for the growing number of small house fellowships that are meeting in Muslim areas
- Pray that Paul and others like him with a heart and gift for evangelism will have many opportunities to share the gospel.
- Pray that Jonas and others like him will become future leaders in the church.
