The ‘why’ of holistic ministry 



Holistic ministry in any context serves as a clear representation of the power of the gospel lived out. It is based foundationally on three principles:



Jesus did holistic ministry 



As Christ-followers, we are called to live our lives using Christ’s example as our roadmap for ministry.



Scripture says to do holistic ministry 



The scriptures are complete and perfect for serving as our comprehensive roadmap for life. This addresses the reality that both righteousness and day-to-day life are wrapped up in our relationship to God. Apart from God, there is no fullness of life.



We are agents of God’s compassion to the world



The Church is the ultimate expression of God’s grace to the world. This means that compassion, if demonstrated as an expression of the power of the gospel to change people’s lives, will always be part of a healthy church and demonstrated to those in need irrespective of their belief system.
