Fraud vs Fruit - what will win?

NO girlAfter a crisis, people caught in devastation and poverty are easy prey for the unscrupulous. Fraudulent contractors seek them out to take away the little remaining money that they have. Six years is a long time to wait to rebuild a home after it’s been destroyed but thousands are still waiting. They need help, both physically and spiritually. New Orleans still needs the care and concern that a team from your church can give to them.

Real life examples

  • After Hurricane Katrina, Miss Alma, a ninth ward resident, was swindled out of money and then thieves also stole her plumbing, wiring and air conditioning unit. She could use help to get her house fixed up. Books could be written about the evil that has been done to many people but a crisis response team could bring the light of the gospel to this dark situation.
  • John has also been trying to restore his home so his mother and two nieces have a decent place to live. He could use help since he has been balancing a job and all of the extra work to repair his much damaged home.

Consider forming a team from your church and send laborers into the New Orleans harvest that has followed this national crisis. Let’s not let the darkness and fraud prevail!
