Key Verses

We do what we do because we believe it is both modeled and commanded in Scripture.  We serve and minister out of the love God has lavished on us.  We encourage all associated with GlobalFingerprints to memorize and meditate on these verses.

1 John 3:16-18 - This is how we know what love is:  Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.  And we ought to lay down our lives for one another.  If any one of you has material possessions and sees a brother in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in you?  Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 - For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.  And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

2 Corinthians 5:18-20 - All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.  And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.  We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.  We implore you on Christ’s behalf be reconciled to God.

Great Commandment and Great Commission
Mark 12:28-31 and Matthew 28-18-20
- One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating.  Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?  "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."  The second is this: "Love your neighbor as yourself."  There is no commandment greater than these."…Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Mark 10:13-14 - People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them.  When Jesus saw this, he was indignant.  He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
Micah 6:8 - He has shown all you what people what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Isaiah 61:1-4 - The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.  He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion-to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.  They will be called mighty oaks, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.  They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations

Matthew 25:42-45 - "For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me."  They also will answer, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes of sick or in prison, and did not help you?"  He will reply, "Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me."

Galatians 6:2 - Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

James 2:15-17 - Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.  If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?  In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
