VBS FAQ
How will the funds raised for Every Drop Counts! actually be used?
The funds will be equally split between needs in Haiti and Kolkata, India.- The primary solution will be water filtration systems with the appropriate filtering capacity for a family, school or orphanage. If the project raises more than $25,000, that opens up the possibility of drilling wells and exploring longer-term solutions for more children. The more that is raised, the better the solution we will be able to provide.
- In Kolkata, those receiving the filters will be families whose kids are part of the GlobalFingerprints sponsorship program.
- In Haiti, the recipients will likely be schools, orphanages or some type of community-based solution versus giving a filtration system to a single family.
- In the next six months, GlobalFingerprints will be talking with organizations that focus exclusively on the issue of clean, safe water and will be developing a recommended solution in each location in coordination with experts in this field.
- The implementation of the water filtration systems will be done in close collaboration with GlobalFingerprints national church partners in each location.
