Every Drop Counts! will supply water filtration systems to the poorest of the poor: children in Haiti and Kolkata, India. We hope to provide hundreds, even thousands, of children in Haiti and India with clean, safe water through the offerings of children in VBS programs around the country. When it comes to providing life-giving water for the kids… every dollar, every nickel, every penny counts!




Safe drinking water and working bathrooms are things most kids have never had to think about. In fact, most North Americans take these necessities for granted. Some facts about water to consider:



    

  • There are three things needed to sustain life: 1) air, 2) water, and 3) food.
    • 

  • Without water or any other fluids, a person will die in about three days. 
    • 

  • Every year there are over 2 million deaths related to unsafe water, sanitation and hygiene. 
    • 

  • In developing countries, like Haiti and India, 80% of all illnesses are caused by diseases passed through unclean water.
    • 

  • Headlines relating to water issues this past year in Haiti and India have included:

      

    • Rural India — only 30% has access to safe water
      • 

    • After storm, Haiti confronts growing cholera threat
      • 

    • India: land of many cell phones, fewer toiletswater pump
      • 

    • Haiti cholera death toll passes 2,000 mark
