Hurricane Katrina Teams

EFCA TouchGlobal Crisis Response, working alongside Castle Rock Community Church, Urban Impact Ministries and Trinity Church, is working to provide hurricane relief, recovery to the body of Christ, and outreach and evangelism to communities in Covington, LA and New Orleans. We are in need of individuals who have a heart for service and compassion. Come prepared to be flexible and to be used by God!

EFCA TouchGlobal is currently seeking teams of five or more people, rather than individual workers. Multiple teams are deployed each week.  Katrina prayer

Youth teams

Katrina relief and recovery has proven to be a great family and youth missions experience. Please plan to bring your youth teams over fall, winter and spring breaks, and for the summer 2009 Urban Impact National Project.

General information

Trip costs

A $20 per-person, non-refundable deposit is required at the time of scheduling. The deposit will not be applied to the total week fee.

To sustain volunteer response during the long-term recovery, there is a $150 per-person fee for the week to cover lodging/facility costs, breakfast and dinner, and to help with ongoing Crisis Response ministry needs. Lunch is the responsibility of each team. The $150 per-person fee should be sent 14 days prior to team arrival.

Please send one check from your team payable to "EFCA TouchGlobal" (noting Relief Team Deposit and the name of your church in the memo line) to:

EFCA TouchGlobal
19380 N. 10th Street
Covington, LA 70433

Please download and include the payment form with your deposit and balance payment.

Example:
A team of 10 people for 6 nights
Team deposit: 10 x $20 = $200
Team week cost due 2 weeks prior to arrival: 10 x $150 = $1,500

Transportation

Teams are responsible for their own transportation. All travel and incidental costs are the team’s responsibility.

Each work team will need daily transportation to their worksites. Vehicles are needed to transport wheelbarrows and other tools to work sites. (Unleaded and diesel fuel is available within a 10-minute drive.)
