Community Development

One main focus of EFCA TouchGlobal is community development. TouchGlobal does this through:

Leadership education

Adopt a LeaderThrough the Adopt-a-Leader programEFCA TouchGlobal develops and trains world-class leaders in the world’s poorest areas. Individuals who are selected by local church leadership are trained to become lawyers, teachers, mechanics, and medical personnel. Through their vocations, they continue to spread the gospel and plant churches. With your assistance they will have a marked influence upon the life and ministry of their local churches and communities.

Micro-enterprise/small business

EFCA TouchGlobal provides guidance and resources to create businesses that support and sustain ongoing ministry. Often this is required in countries where missions or ministry isn’t possible due to infrastructure, culture or government oppression. Examples of small businesses are: coffee shops, restaurants, transportation services, or product exports.

Jeeps

One of the largest obstacles to ministry in remote access locations is transportation. Building jeeps is a great ministry opportunity for those who like to get their hands dirty and, at the same time, want to share the love of Christ. EFCA TouchGlobal has all the parts and will ship the vehicle to the location in need. Committed teams are needed to make the vehicles. If your team is interested contact touchglobal@efca.org

Elikya Center

Elikya CenterThe Elikya Center is a ministry of EFCA TouchGlobal that provides training for widows, orphans, unwed mothers, and the disabled in Congo teaching them the life skills of sewing, farming, masonry, carpentry, crafts, etc.

There are ove 900 Congo EFC churches in an area the size of Indiana. The vast number of widows they have to minister to far exceeds their ability to care for them. Thousands of widows need help. Some own little more than a chair, a stick bed and the clothes they are wearing. For as little as $100 the Elikya Center is helping rebuild widows’ homes with local materials. Unwed mothers need help learning how to care for their children and need skills for a successful future. As orphans grow up, they need protection, basic schooling and job skills. Elikya Center is making sure these needs are being met.
