Leadership Conference ReachGlobal Summits

The ReachGlobal area summits held during the EFCA Leadership Conference in June were a big success! Your presence and interest was very significant and encouraging. The local church is a strategic partner in our international ministries. Thank you to all who participated.

EFCA CONNECT is the ministry that leads the coordination of the ReachGlobal Summits at the Leadership Conference. To learn more about their ministry please go to their website at www.efca.org/connect.

India Summit

Thanks to each one who attended the India Summit during the EFCA Leadership Conference in June! We are excited to see the growing interest in God's work in India. Since the first India Summit two years ago, the attendance has more than tripled. This year's summit was the first India Summit since the formation of a council representing partnering churches that serves to facilitate greater ownership, participation, communication and effective strategic planning for healthy partnerships in India.

This increased interest and cooperative partnership effort in India comes at a critical time. God is at work in India, yet India remains the country with the largest population of unreached people groups in the world. The needs and opportunities are tremendous and strategic global partners can make a difference. We encourage you and your church to move forward in the planting of healthy churches among all people in India through a partnership with ReachGlobal, the council and our national Indian partners. If you would like to receive regular prayer updates or more information about the council or participating with ReachGlobal in India, email us at reachglobal@efca.org.

We are committed to serving churches to strengthen global partnerships for God's glory in South Asia. Please contact us if you would like a visit to your church to share the challenge of India and/or to discuss ways you can strategically partner and make a difference in India.

Latin America Summit

The Latin America Summit at the EFCA Leadership Conference in June highlighted strategic work being done with partnering churches in the U.S. Participants learned how short-term teams and partnerships with national leaders are leading to new opportunities to share the gospel and encourage church planting in areas that have not yet been reached. To learn more about partnership opportunities, including partnering with other EFCA churches to reach Latin America, contact Brian Duggan, International Leader for Latin America, at Brian.Duggan@efca.org

Urgent need in Portugal

There is an immediate need for a custodian/housekeeper at the Portuguese Bible Institute, at which one of our ReachGlobal missionaries is the administrator. It would be for a period of five to six weeks, starting in mid-August. Responsibilities include maintaining the Institute grounds and facilities, cleaning classrooms, cooking meals, coordinating work projects, and scheduling guests. You would be working under the direction of the PBI staff and assisting the custodian and housekeeper. Lodging will be provided. If you are interested in this great opportunity, please contact Rich Burrill at Richard.Burrill@efca.org.

EFCA ReachGlobal in Asia

What is the best-kept secret in the EFCA? We have an effective group of workers in Asia!  For security reasons, we can't publicize it on our website, but we have over 50 adults and 40 children working in several locations in one of our largest Asian fields. Our purpose there is to multiply healthy churches in and send healthy workers from this country to the ends of the earth. We believe that as God continues to bless his Church in this area, He will send out millions of Asian missionaries to the rest of the world. That is the work we have be called to, and we invite you to join us in multiplying healthy churches and sending healthy workers. We are always in need of prayer, finances and more workers from America. If you feel that God is calling your church to be involved in ministry in Asia, why not contact us?  Email us at reachglobal@efca.org with "Asia" in the subject line.

Greensburg tornado

Over the last eight weeks, EFCA TouchGlobal has been working with the EFCA Midwest District to support their efforts in responding to the Greensburg, KS, tornado, which wiped out 95% of the town. TouchGlobal will be helping with reconstruction work. God has amazingly opened doors in the community and provided for much-needed showers and an RV for on-site staff housing. Steve and Lisa Nelson left Covington, LA, in early July to temporarily relocate in Haviland, KS, to lead the response efforts. Pray for Steve and Lisa as they get connected in the community, and pray for God to be central in the rebuilding of this town. For more information, please visit this site.

Ministry highlight: Live0

ReachGlobal's Live to the Power of Nothing, or Live0, is in the process of recruiting team members and team leaders to be sent to Rwanda, India, East Timor, and beyond! As a ministry, Live0 seeks to work among the most underserved people in the most overlooked places. Teams of 10-12 members serve for two years, living in community and serving on a compassion platform, always alongside church planting efforts. We are partnering with like-minded indigenous movements, and taking a supportive role working in Community Health Evangelism (CHE) as a means to church planting.

There are two demographics we want to recruit: the older adult "finishers" and the 18-35 year olds. Both are growing groups and both fit well in this paradigm. The 18-35 year olds, who usually don't have any special training, love the Lord and are seeking tangible ways to express their faith on a compassion platform. The "finishers" are retirees with life and ministry experience and a desire to pour that experience into an up-coming generation that desperately needs to be mentored as it serves. During the two-year term, team leaders mentor the team members personally and as a team using a curriculum that has been developed for Live0.

For more information and a free informational CD, visit our website at www.powerofnothing.org, contact the Live0 office at (952) 767-0557, or email us at info@powerofnothing.org.

This is a strategic time for believers to unite together in prayer for all of South Asia. The political situation in Pakistan has become increasingly sensitive while instability and fighting is ongoing in Afghanistan. Christians and Christian workers daily face life-threatening situations. ReachGlobal is committed to mobilizing prayer for God's glory among the peoples in South Asia. If you would like more information on the needs in Pakistan and Afghanistan, or to receive regular prayer updates for South Asia, please email reachglobal@efca.org with "South Asia" in the subject line.
