New missionaries acceptedThere were 14 new missionary candidates who were accepted into ReachGlobal after May's Readiness Evaluation Event. We are excited about the leadership, gifts and passions that each of these dynamic individuals and couples bring to ReachGlobal. Please pray for them as they begin to support team build and take the next steps to prepare for the teams they will join around the world.Tanzanian international church plant
God is creating an amazing opportunity for ministry in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania! This year steps are being taken to launch an international church plant in this dynamic city of over 4 million people. The church plant will focus on reaching educated, English-speaking Africans along with ex-patriot business people and diplomats. There is already a solid core group forming for this church planting ministry. What is needed now is a church planting pastor with a heart to start and grow a healthy international church. The leadership team in Dar es Salaam has a vision for this to be a dynamic and growing fellowship. If you have a heart for international people, for church planting, and for ministry overseas this could be a great opportunity for you. For more information contact Kevin Kompelien, ReachGlobal International Leader for Africa, at (408) 644-0985 or Kevin.Kompelien@efca.org. Vision Trip to Liberia
Following more than a decade of civil war, God is opening doors for ministry in the West African country of Liberia. In order to help EFCA church leaders get a clearer picture for ministry opportunities there, a Vision Trip to Liberia is being planned for September 20 - October 3, 2007. On this trip you will have opportunities to see what God is doing in a variety of ministries in Liberia and explore ways your church could partner with Liberian Evangelical Free Churches to impact Liberia for Christ. In addition, there will be "hands-on" ministry opportunities for those who participate in the trip. If you would like more information on the Fall 2007 Liberia Vision Trip please contact Kevin Kompelien, ReachGlobal International Leader for Africa, at (408) 644-0985 or Kevin.Kompelien@efca.org. Just in case? Or, Just in time?
As we grow up, much of our learning falls into the "just in case" category, meaning "just in case I ever need to know trigonometry." EFCA EQUIP is doing a survey of "just in time" learning needs. If you could set aside one hour to learn or develop a skill, or learn a more effecetive way to do a particular task, what would that be? We want you to be able to function at the highest level in your ministry by having the training and equipping you desire. It is important to have as many ideas for potential "short courses" as possible. You will vote on potential short courses later in the summer. Make your needs known by sending Ken Warwick your top three wish list courses by June 15th. Publication name changes (repeat)With our name changed to ReachGlobal, some of our publication names need to be updated. One of the publications affected is the IM Prayer Hotline:
If you would like to receive this weekly prayer update, which includes prayer requests from our global personnel, you can sign up at prayreachglobal@moodle.efca.org. Please add the new email address to your safe list so they do not get caught in your spam filter. If you currently do not receive Pray ReachGlobal, please disregard this message. GodSighting
Luc (Luke) attended the Outreach English Camp in Belgium in April 2006. He was an influential teen who had grown up in a churched family but never made a clear decision for Christ. Camp was one more time he was challenged to let God rule his life. Since that week of camp, he had been working through many questions and issues. Two weeks ago, he was hospitalized in critical condition when doctors diagnosed him with an unknown form of Leukemia. They put Luc in a coma and began giving him chemo. However, complications made them stop the treatments. Our ReachGlobal staff learned that just before Luc was put into a coma, a woman in their church shared Jesus with him and he prayed with her to receive Christ. Then, before being put to sleep, he told his mother that if he came through, all this he wanted to be baptized. On May 22, Luc went home to be with the Lord. He was 18 years old. Prayer request
Currently there are over 500 ReachGlobal missionaries making an impact in over 50 countries. Please pray for the 14 countries being explored for future ministry involvement. Pray that God would guide our ReachGlobal personnel as they seek to bring His gospel the people of these countries.
