YOUR CHURCH'S RETIREMENT PLAN

Do you have your church's retirement plan document in place?
Do you know where it is?
The IRS requires that churches and other ministries have these documents in place by January 1, 2010. The FCMM staff can still help, but it's essential that you contact Associate Director Bud Smith immediately! Call toll free (800) 995-5357 or (952) 853-1772; email bud.smith@efca.org or fcmm@efca.org.

GLOBALFINGERPRINTS ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP

Do you want to provide an opportunity for your congregation to give children hope this Christmas? GlobalFingerprints is the EFCA child sponsorship program. We are currently giving hope to 963 Congolese orphans being sponsored through this program. But there are more than 3,000 orphans in the northwest corner of Congo who still need your help.

Would you feature GlobalFingerprints at your church? We need both individuals and churches to sponsor an orphan for just $25 a month. We are trusting God to have 1,000 orphans sponsored by January 1, 2010 and 1,500 orphans sponsored by June 2010.

There are also opportunities to meet some of the one-time program needs through special offerings this Christmas season. Special needs include:

  • Expansion fund: GlobalFingerprints is expanding into India in 2010. Contact globalfingerprints@efca.org to learn how to give.
  • Shoe ME: Help provide shoes for orphans in Congo. $10 buys a pair of shoes for a child who now only has flip-flops to walk miles a day. Give now.
  • Motorcycles: Supervisors of GlobalFingerprints in Congo travel hundreds of miles a month on a bicycle. Motorcycles will help them expand their outreach to more orphans and their families. Give now

Go to www.globalfingerprints.org/ to view and download the GlobalFingerprints video. Or subscribe to the GlobalFingerprints Newsletter, by sending an email with the word "Subscribe" in the body of the message. Contact us at globalfingerprints@efca.org or (800) 745-2202.

Your church needs income protection when staff becomes disabled.
In today's' economy, with depleted reserves, affordable group long-term disability insurance makes good sense and is more valuable than ever.  The month of January is open enrollment time for the EFCA Long Term Disability Insurance.  It is the only time of the year when church staff are given access to LTD insurance through salary deferral are able to come on the plan if they have previously waived coverage or failed to enroll during the first 30 days of employment.
