ENGLISH TEAMS NEEDED IN INDONESIA

A valuable bridge-builder in the church planting work of ReachGlobal's national partners is English classes taught by native English speakers.  Teams of 4-6 teachers are needed in several cities in Indonesia for 2008 and 2009.  Teams would be trained and serve for 2 weeks. There are openings on the Fall 2008 teams. Dates (including travel time) are:

Team 1 - Oct. 9 - 27
Team 2 - Oct. 23 - Nov. 10
Team 3 - Nov. 6 - 24

We are looking for churches interested in being involved in outreach to unreached people groups.  English classes are a strategic tool for our national partners, as they follow up on the new contacts they make with University students and young professionals. Would you like to have your church join in this exciting partnership?  No previous experience necessary--just an open and willing heart to be used by the Spirit.  For more information, contact: andy.krause@efca.org or rachel.bliss@efca.org.

REMEMBER OUR SOLDIERS AND CHAPLAINS

The EFCA has 58 chaplains serving across the world presenting the gospel and pastoring our service members.  Please pray for those who are away from their families and homes:

  • Ron Webb, Iraq - stationed at Fort Bragg, NC
  • Thomas Behling, Afghanistan - with National Guard, MN
  • Sean Dennis, Iraq - stationed at Fort Campbell, KY
  • Vince Garcia, Iraq - stationed at Fort Huachuca, AZ
  • Jeffrey Granger, Iraq - stationed at Ellsworth AFB, SD

Prayers answered...a life changed
Over the past year and a half, I sent prayer requests for Marshall McDuffie, a college student who has played a significant role in our ministry at La Vina. Marshall was dismissed from the Florida International University football team for his part of a brawl during a game in October 2006.  Many responded in prayer.  God answered...gloriously!  A full page article featuring Marshall was in the Miami Herald including pictures of our recent missions trip to Haiti. The story told how Marshall dedicated himself to serving God. The administration noticed.  People who once said that Marshall would "never play for FIU again" reinstated him to play because of what God has done through his life. God used Marshall's mistake to give him an opportunity to give God glory and Marshall did...with his life.  Prayers do make a difference.

STRIVE! TELESEMINAR ON CHURCH GOVERNANCE

The EFCA presents a church governance teleseminar on June 5 at 7 pm or June 11 at 8 pm.

Join Cathie Leimbach, governance expert and STRIVE! consultant, along with T.J. Addington, senior vice president at the EFCA and author of High Impact Church Boards. Learn from the experience of hundreds of churches the three biggest leadership issues facing church boards: healthy leaders, intentional leaders, and empowered leaders.  The teleseminar will be moderated by Pastor Arnie Fleagle of Trinity Evangelical Free Church.  If you could ask Cathie and T.J. one question about church governance, what would your single, most important question be? (Send in your question when you register.)

For more information and to register for the June 5 teleseminar, go to: http://www.strive.com/ask/register/church-governance/
For more information and to register for the June 11 teleseminar, go to: http://www.strive.com/ask/register/church-governance-call-2/
