EFCA GODSIGHTINGS TELL YOUR STORY
When families gather, it is stories of the past and present celebrated together in laughter and tears that unify their hearts. GodSightings are the evidence of God's hand in action touching our lives. The goal of the GodSightings campaign is to unify the hearts of the EFCA family! Gather. Share. Celebrate God's handiwork across the EFCA! Email stories to Godsightings@efca.org (Please attach related pictures whenever available, and be sure to advise if the story should be communicated anonymously.) Elie, a 22 year old hemophiliac who attends EFC of Lebanon in Beirut, needs surgery for a tumor on his foot. To have the surgery, he will need 50,000 units of a very expensive medication. Since the war in Lebanon, this product has not been available. Pastor Joseph Najem wrote to ask if EFCA TouchGlobal could help. After making some calls, we learned of a woman in Omaha, NE eager to help. Her son has hemophilia and was recently switched to a different medication. She had some of the medication Elie needs. She gave 252,000 units of this very special medication as a donation for Elie and for any other hemophiliac in Beirut that may need it! Now that we have seen the first miracle (what a GodSighting!), we pray that God will open doors so that these two large boxes can be shipped from Minneapolis to Lebanon. They must go with someone traveling to that area. We're praying for another miracle! TEDS ANNOUNCES EFCA DISTRICT CHURCH PLANTING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMTrinity Evangelical Divinity School announces the creation of a new scholarship program that will aid EFCA District Superintendents in identifying, equipping and training a new generation of church planters. The EFCA District Church Planting Scholarship Program will provide each District Superintendent with a minimum of one prospective Church Planting Scholarship Program nomination per year. Nominated program applicants who meet admissions requirements to the TEDS MDiv degree program will receive a $5,000 annual Church Planting Grant (based upon full-time attendance). Additionally, program participants will be eligible to combine this award with the existing EFCA Church Match Grant program of $2,000, where a contribution of up to $2,000 from an EFCA church will be matched by the same amount from TEDS. The $5,000 scholarship, combined with $2,000 from an EFCA church and an additional $2,000 matched by TEDS means a $9,000 scholarship towards tuition costs of $13,200 for the 2007-2008 academic year!Trinity is excited to partner with the EFCA in fulfilling its mission of multiplying healthy churches among all people, particularly by making the training of church planters a priority.
