Fair Share Fair Share is an interdependent funding partnership between local churches, districts and national ministries. Together we are committed to serving each local EFCA church to help it grow in health and effectiveness.
The concept of Fair Share is simple. Each local church is asked to contribute a minimum of 2% of its annual budget evenly divided between the local district and national ministries. Each church then sends a separate check to the district and national ministries on a monthly basis. When a district requests a higher percentage than the minimum 2%, the contribution is again evenly divided between district and national ministries.
Fair Share is growing in participation. In 2000, 730 churches participated in Fair Share at the national level compared to 576 in 1999. Contributions to the national ministries increased from $1,053,208 in 1999 to $1,312,804 in 2000. This contribution represents 29% of the needed annual operating funds of the EFCA national office. Individual districts report similar increases.
Our desire and expectation is that every EFCA congregation will participate in Fair Share. Thank you to those congregations already participating. For congregations not yet participating in the support of both your district and national ministries, we invite you to join the growing number of congregations who are committed to this interdependent funding partnership as part of the EFCA family.
This new support plan does not affect individuals who make donations to ReachGlobal or their missionaries. For more information or to request a brochure about EFCA's "Fair Share" support plan, please email donorserv@efca.org.
