About this video:

Following God’s call, Melissa Huyett and her husband picked up their life in Orange County, Calif, and moved to Burlington, Wisc. Melissa started working at Mount Zion Christian School, a small school of sixty students. Melissa’s class consisted of only 16 junior high students. Melissa soon wondered why she was doing there, but God showed her through the imaginable. Coming home from a basketball conference, two of her students were killed in a car accident. At that moment, Melissa knew why God brought her to Wisconsin. When she was young, she had experienced a tragedy of her own. Three of her friends were murdered, one of whom was very close. Melissa thought she could impact her students through the grief and hurt that she had experienced when she was young. By the end of the year, four parents of students in her class came to Christ. Even some boys in her class decided to recommit their lives to the Lord. Melissa says that God brought beauty from ashes. She adds, “I know that God showed up, and he showed up in my life and taught me to be…an instrument and to use my past pain to love others.”
