Life Insurance
Donors oftentimes overlook opportunities to provide gifts of life insurance policies for charitable giving. This can be a great way to provide a meaningful gift to further the mission of the Evangelical Free Church of America.
There are FIVE common ways to give life insurance to the EFCA. Each can further our mission. The right option is determined by your planning goals and your personal situation. In most cases, a charitable tax deduction may be available.
- Name the EFCA as beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy. The EFCA can be named as a primary beneficiary and receive 100% benefit. Alternatively, ministry can be designated as or secondary beneficiary and so that you can benefit other charities alongside your loved ones.
- Purchase a new policy with the EFCA as owner /beneficiary.
- Change the owner and beneficiary of an existing paid-up policy to the EFCA.
- Give an existing policy for which premiums must still be paid.
- Give the portion of an employer-paid term life insurance policy that is in excess of $50,000. This is a way employees can make a significant gift to the EFCA at no direct cost. Simply name the EFCA as the sole beneficiary for the excess over $50,000.
