New Wholistic Ministry Leadership

EFCA Leadership is committed to the expansion of (w)holistic ministries as a vital ingredient in a healthy EFCA.  Article 8 of the new Statement of Faith holds all of us accountable to the call of compassion and justice in our ministries.

"I am encouraged that this biblical emphasis is a growing force in our movement and dream of the day when we are known as a denomination that not only talks about (w)holistic ministry, but a (w)holistic approach is deeply imbedded into the very fabric of everything we do.  Making disciples of all people must, in my opinion, include compassion and justice issues being addressed."
- William Hamel, EFCA president

As of April 2009, leadership of wholistic ministry in the US will be carried out by Alvin Sanders, director of EFCA Samaritan Way. Denny Morrow has been appointed director of EFCA TouchGlobal, giving leadership to EFCA ReachGlobal’s holistic ministry (including oversight of Crisis Response in the US).  They will work closely to coordinate wholistic ministry efforts in the US.  Alvin will also work with the ReachNational team in developing and implementing a wholistic strategy for local churches. For further information, please email:

*Recognizing the care taken to define the core wholistic/holistic ministry philosophies, the EFCA embraces both spellings of the word in communication.
