Church Planting Posture

Healthy missionary and national church planting leaders care that Jesus Christ is known, followed and worshipped. They are grace centered and empower others to be successful for the kingdom. They love to invest in others and pass the ministry baton to new workers. When outsiders look at these leaders, they respond by saying, "Look at what God has done!" (Robert Greenleaf)

Healthy missionary and national church planting leaders have bi-focal vision:

  1. They model being servants for the kingdom while maintaining a healthy, balanced life. They keep their eyes on people, looking out for their health and growth while never losing sight of the mission.
  2. They are entrepreneurial without having an attitude of superiority. They always keep the end product in mind: healthy, reproducing, indigenous, self-supporting, and interdependent kingdom communities. So they come alongside rather than dominate; they coach rather than control; and they release rather than retain. They live out church planting core values.
