EFCA Education

Well over 100 years ago, recognizing the need to educate EFCA pastors, leaders and lay persons with an intentional focus on biblical truth and the inerrancy of the Word of God, our founders initiated a focus on education. Today’s exceptional EFCA universities, Trinity international University and its family of schools including Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and Trinity Western University as well as the ministries of EFCA GATEWAY Theological Institute, the EFCA Midwinter Ministerial Forum and EFCA EQUIP continue to provide excellence in education grounded in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Trinity International University

With nearly 100 faculty and 3,000 students, we at Trinity International University (TIU) are committed to the same vision with which we were founded in 1897 and determined to follow in the footsteps of the great universities that were founded on the cornerstone belief that all wisdom lies in Jesus Christ. Our task, if we are to be salt in the world of our day, is to build institutions where we can think like Christians and learn to live as Christians in a culture in which both have become equally hard. Whether preparing to be pastors or missionaries or attorneys, teachers, counselors, scientists, corporate leaders, homemakers or public servants, whatever our calling under God, we need excellence in education, grounded in the lordship of Jesus Christ. That is the goal and task of Trinity.

Trinity Evangelical Divinity School

Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) is a learning community dedicated to the development of servant leaders for the global church, leaders who are spiritually, biblically, and theologically prepared to engage contemporary culture for the sake of Christ’s kingdom. TEDS, one of the largest seminaries in the world, enrolls more than 1,200 graduate students in professional and academic programs, including more than 150 in its PhD programs. At the heart of the divinity school lies the Master of Divinity degree, preparing pastors, teachers, and missionaries for many kinds of service. TEDS also offers a range of more focused Master of Arts programs in counseling ministries, Christian thought, New Testament, Old Testament, and other disciplines. The school offers the ThM and DMin as well. Three academic PhD programs cover six departments: Educational Studies, Intercultural Studies, and Theological Studies (OT, NT, Systematic Theology, Historical Theology).

Trinity Western University

Trinity Western University is a unique Canadian university. It cultivates total student development through academic excellence, sharpened critical thinking, communication and leadership skills, and a commitment to the tradition of Christian higher education. With approximately 4000 students enrolled annually and a broad based liberal arts and sciences curriculum TWU offers undergraduate degrees in 40 major areas and 16 graduate degrees. Trinity Western University is a full-member of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada.

EFCA GATEWAY Theological Institute

EFCA GATEWAY Theological Institute exists to provide a "gateway" to credentialing and ministry within the larger EFCA movement. EFCA GATEWAY offers language-specific, practical and accessible theological training for pastors, equipping them for effective ministry in their current contexts. EFCA GATEWAY is designed for leaders who have a need for theological and pastoral training but lack the time and resources to access traditional seminary education.

EFCA Midwinter Ministerial

Offered annually, the EFCA Ministerial Association sponsors this unique forum, inviting EFCA pastors and leaders to an educational and interactive conference to learn about and discuss key biblical and cultural issues. Past sessions have included review of Emerging Church Ministries, Baptism and the EFCA, the Ethics of Biotechnology, the Open View of God and the Premillenial Return of Christ.

EFCA EQUIP

A unique learning community providing live training, seminars, and online learning opportunities, EFCA EQUIPis committed to the learning development of EFCA missionaries, members and staff to be fruitful in their ministries.
