Financial Information

In December, leadership from Touchglobal (formerly Compassion Ministries), Castle Rock Community Church/Urban Impact Ministries, Trinity Church and the EFCA Katrina financial team, met to discuss the future of the response of the EFCA to the effects of Hurricane Katrina. The following breakdown reflects funding that had come in up to that point in time in addition to a projected additional income of approximately $200,000. In our meeting, we felt this funding distribution reflected the heart of the EFCA and would accomplish maximum results relative to the current and projected needs of these ministries and their immediate communities.

Total Income (as of 4/08) : $2,317,000
Trinity EFC: $100,000
Relief Team efforts: $500,000
Relief materials/needs: $617,000
Castle Rock EFC: $100,000
Urban Impact Ministries: $1,000,000
Total to be disbursed: $2,317,000

In order for volunteer teams to continue to function in the area, team members are charged for the expenses they would incur for food and lodging/facility expenses, as well as other ongoing operating costs for the Crisis Response Ministry. This allows for a larger percentage of the funds to be used to directly impact those affected by the disaster. All of these funds will be distributed to these ministries upon request and with the approval of the EFCA Katrina finance committee.
